Buy It.
I really think this is one of those albums that the more you listen the more you like it. I like it better then Wildflowers and I think it is equal to The Globe Sessions. With each listen you pick up something new.

I admire people like her, who aren't afraid to speak their minds and promote their ideals through their art. She is not afraid of the predictable conservative backlash against her. Of course many conservatives will give this album 1 star ratings, but small minded people are easy to ignore.
This album is very good, not great, but well worth the money.
Good, but different
I like this CD and for me it's important for any artist to demonstrate through personal involvement and through their medium the social issues that are important to them. Crow has done that here. Some of the songs were slow to grow on me, but they're getting better. Definitely worth having.
I'm just getting old...
This is a really good album. It is just too young for me. Or, is it that I'm too old for it? Either way, the fit isn't quite right. (On the other hand I'm not the only one aging in this relationship, am I! They Sheryl I think you need to grow up!). All the tunes are gritty, but some of them are downright silly. She's done better earlier on in her career. The last tune on the CD is sweet, lyrical, sentimental and gripping but it still lacks sophistication, maturity, complexity, whatever it is that comes with age. Maybe wisdom (dare I say). Wisdom and grit, that would be a good direction for her to go in...anyway... It used to be that people were just "stuck in the 60s". But this is being "stuck in the 90s, being stuck in the 60s". Time to move on.
